「登天遊霧,撓挑無極」-《莊子,大宗師》

觀看宇宙、描述宇宙一直是古今人類心智所努力,從「我是誰?」到「宇宙是什麼?」,隨著歷史發展,各階段理論亦擅勝場。當今,量子力學早以狂頑之姿徹底顛覆吾人熟知之古典力學。物質的基本組成是「量子」,是干涉駐聚的「粒子」也是無形無邊的「波」,「波粒二相」當下同在,「有」也「空」,不只完全「有」也不只完全「空」,只是機率變幻的因緣和合。觀者與所觀糾纏共振共成,無絕對獨立的觀者與不受影響的所觀物。

極少藝術創作者有興趣理解冷冰冰的科學理論,能將科學理論轉化為創作理論者更少,將此創作理論平面畫作形式表現者更是少之又少,而又能臻至生命感動、觸及內心靈性的藝術境界更是鳳毛麟角,畫家沈昌明以量子力學為繪畫創作哲學核心,是為全球畫界第一人。

放下繪畫流派形式技法,樸實本心直探玄冥感知,一沙一世界,一世界亦是一沙,全息碎形大瀰六合小凝微塵,沙粒子為隱喻亦為工具,藉由多層次潑撒、疊加~是相非相之像,干涉纏繞著既顯又隱、既平面又立體的文字,在亦有亦無之間,頓現具有深度層次的空間及飄移流動的時間,時空在此凝聚於畫面擴散出畫面,畫布雖有邊界,吾人卻已超越邊界,觀者與所觀之畫互相融於一體,彼此在,無彼此,直入「心凝形釋,與萬化冥合。」之境。

時序廿四節氣,經「小雪」、「大雪」、「冬至」、「小寒」、「大寒」,「立春」是開啟春天信息的第一個節氣,此時天地間雖寒氣仍盛,而潛藏的生命之氣早已萌綻,正以寧靜卻勇猛的姿態宣告新氣象的創開。作者翠綠意象突破冷白時空,點粒、波盪如毫端塵刹瀰漫四際,是生命大千的涵攝,亦是陰陽能量轉換與相對激盪的張力,在穩定的構圖中蘊藏活潑動能,動靜併現互,陰陽相生、虛實相應,凝視其中即能感受「立春」萬象之氣息。

Exploring and describing the universe has been a constant endeavor of the human mind throughout history. From the question “Who am I?” to “What is the universe?” various theories have emerged at different stages of development, each claiming its moment of triumph. Today, quantum mechanics stands as a wild disruptor, shattering our familiar classical mechanics. The fundamental building block of matter is the “quantum,” simultaneously a “particle” of interference and an endless “wave.” The duality of “wave-particle” exists in the present moment, both “being” and “emptiness,” not exclusively one or the other but a dance of probabilistic circumstances. The observer and the observed become entangled, resonating and co-creating, with no absolute separation between the observer and the unaffected observed.

Few artistic creators have an interest in understanding the cold, scientific theories, and even fewer can transform scientific theory into a theory of creation. Those who can translate this theory into two-dimensional art are even rarer. To reach a level of artistry that deeply touches the soul and reaches spiritual depths is exceptionally unique. The artist Shen Changming has taken quantum mechanics as the philosophical core of his painting creation, making him the first in the global art scene to do so.

Abandoning conventional painting styles and techniques, he delves directly into the profound perception of the unknown. “A grain of sand is a world, and a world is a grain of sand.” Holographic fractals expand and contract, with grains of sand as both metaphors and tools. Through multiple layers of sprinkling and superimposing, they create an image that is both apparent and hidden, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional. In the interplay of existence and non-existence, a space with depth and a drifting flow of time suddenly emerges. Time and space condense into the painting, transcending the boundaries of the canvas. The viewer and the observed artwork merge as one, existing and not existing simultaneously, directly entering the state of “the heart solidifies, forms dissolve, and with all transformations, they merge into the ineffable.”

As we progress through the twenty-four solar terms, “Li Chun” marks the first solar term that opens the door to spring. Even though the chill still lingers in the air, the latent life force has already begun to sprout, declaring the arrival of a new era with a calm yet vigorous demeanor. The author’s verdant imagery transcends the cold white of space. Tiny dots and undulating waves spread like dust motes, encompassing the vastness of life. It is the convergence of the myriad of existence and the tension of the interplay between yin and yang, a stable composition teeming with vibrant energy. Motion and stillness coexist, yin and yang give birth to each other, emptiness and reality correspond. Gazing into it, one can feel the breath of “Li Chun” in all its manifestations.
