San Gallery was founded by Susan in 2021. “San” is the archaic Chinese character for “three,” pronounced the same as the modern “三.” Susan, not her birth name, has been used since she first entered the art field. In addition to being the third of three daughters in her family, the name was inspired by historical texts: from the “Records of the Grand Historian” which says, “Numbers start at one, end at ten, but are established at three,” and from “Shuowen Jiezi” which states, “The way of heaven, earth, and man follows the principle of three; all things related to three derive from it.” Thus, the name “San” was born.
The Inspire Gallery constantly evolves within the ever-changing universe, taking “three” as the origin of all things and embarking on an endless artistic journey.

San Gallery is committed to promoting Taiwanese artists and enhancing their visibility in the global market. Our focus primarily lies in collaborating with artists from Taiwan, Japan, and other Asian regions. Alongside working with established and scholarly artists from abroad, we place a strong emphasis on nurturing emerging talents in the art world.
San Gallery’s mission extends beyond cultivating local Taiwanese artists; we also aim to introduce international artists to expand our gallery’s reputation globally. Our diverse roster includes Shintaro Miyake, known for his paintings and sculptures; Ai Makita, a specialist in oil painting; Xiaojing Li, celebrated for his photography; Kotori Kawashima, another notable photographer; and Mariko Kobayashi, recognized for her textile art. These artists not only bring a rich diversity to each exhibition but also foster valuable exchanges and interactions between Taiwanese and international artists through their innovative works.
In an era of global integration and generational transition, San Gallery will leverage over twenty years of experience in the arts, promoting art with a broad and avant-garde perspective and discovering original creators. Going forward, the gallery will focus on managing emerging artists from Taiwan, Japan, and other Asian regions, and will develop both primary and secondary markets.
